The Hermetic Sanctuary of Ma'at is an international Internet-based Sanctuary- or Golden Dawn based "cyber-Temple," where all members have access to student resources, regardless of physical location or distance from a physical Temple. It currently serves as the primary "classroom" for our Self Initiates, and Long Distance students of the Sanctuary of Ma'at Order of the Golden Dawn, where students meet with Proctors, Teachers, Adepts and other fellow students world wide to study and take their advancement tests from anywhere on the globe.  The HSoM is governed by the Ordo Stella Matutina, a Golden Dawn physical initiatory Order, dedicated to the dissemination of the traditional teachings of the historical Golden Dawn's Hermetic Society, through the process of instruction and initiation.

We are a fully established Hermetic Order working within the Golden Dawn and Rosicrucian Tradition. Our teachings, training exercises, and ritual methods primarily adhere to the original Golden Dawn and Stella Matutina, as taught by its primary founders; Dr. William W. Westcott, Dr. Woodman, and S.L. MacGregor Mathers, and later through Dr. Felkin, W. B. Yeats, Florence Farr, Brode-Innes, and Dr. Israel Regardie.  Our esoteric Sanctuary is a gateway into the Western Mystery Tradition, which includes, but is not limited to, the study and practice of Qabalah, Hermeticism, Theurgy, Alchemy, Enochian, and Ritual Magic.  

The Hermetic Sanctuary of Ma'at (HSoM)- or "Virtual Sanctuary"- exists in cyberspace and provides its initiates worldwide with resources and a means to communicate with their instructors and other members. This provides benefits to people who do not have access to a local Golden Dawn Temple, but desire to practice the 'Traditional' GD system.  Our teaching and learning methodology is unique and innovative, and requires active participation from the student.

The HSoM is a public Western Mystery School- accepting applications from any serious aspirant dedicated to the Golden Dawn Tradition. We offer our resources for our Long Distantant Members, Solitary practitioners, and Study Groups, where they can choose to follow a path of Self-Initiation as outlined by Chic and Sandra Tabatha Cicero in their book "Self Initiation into the Golden Dawn Tradition," or physical initiation through the Ordo Stella Matutina.

Students who are admitted into the HSoM will gain access to a multitude of study and networking resources:

• Both Private and Public Forums for networking with other students and teachers.
• Study and Practice Material for Each Grade. Including practical exercises, Online-Quizzes, Multimedia presentations, Lectures and Essays and much more.
• Personal Proctoring and regular live Online Classes. Including live chat, private email and telephone instruction. (Students who live near their Proctors may also request face-to-face instruction.) Guest Instructors will also give live seminars periodically.

As a Long Distance member, or Self Initiate, you will find everything you need to do your grade work and on-line testing for advancement, so that you can advance at your own pace.

Upon completion of your on-line testing of the requirements of a grade, you will be issued a Grade Certificate of completion, and a "Dispensation," by the Chiefs of our order, which qualifies you for physical Initiation at one of our Ordo Stella Matutina temples.

For beginners, initiates and seasoned practitioners of the Golden Dawn Tradition, we hope that this website will provide you with a place where you can share, discuss, and help others along the path. For everyone else, we hope that you will find the answers to the questions regarding the Golden Dawn and the Ordo Stella Matutina.

Through the assistance and cooperation of individuals and various Golden Dawn Orders, we hope to provide a community where knowledge of the Golden Dawn Tradition can be shared, refined, and preserved for generations to come.
