*Note: The Motto or Magickal Name is a special, magickal name or phrase chosen by the magician for use in a magickal lodge or temple. A Motto is taken in order to disassociate oneself from the mundane world for the duration of the magickal work. Many magicians choose Mottos that have personal spiritual significance for them. Golden Dawn Mottos are typically in Latin and Hebrew in order that they are outside the normal language used in secular life, but it may be in any other language as well.
