Golden Dawn Study and Triangle Groups are currently being formed in cities worldwide in conjunction with the Hermetic Sanctuary of Ma'at Ordo Stella Matutina ®

Study and Practice Rituals, exchange information and personal learning experiences of magic, and other magical topics with other like minded local Golden Dawn practitioners nearest you.

We recognize the fact that there are many students within and with-out the Sanctuary of Ma'at that would love to be part of a physical group but cannot do so, and it is to these students that we address these words to. Within the Sanctuary of Ma'at, we would like to encourage and extend the opportunity to those that would like to Form a formal Triangle or Study group of the Sanctuary. We believe that the interaction of people can be a very important part of the overall magical experience and for those that feel the calling this can be a tremendous opportunity to further their magical work and growth within a group format. If this is something that interests you, then the Sanctuary is more than willing to help anyone in establishing a working group of practitioners. At some point within the formation and work of your Triangle or Group there could even be the opportunity of establishing a Temple of the Order, in which case support would be granted for the performance of physical initiations.

Israel Regardie was very vocal about the possibilities of Self Initiation, and to that end he commented at great length in both the introduction of the now legendary paperback Golden Dawn, as well as his monumental Complete Golden Dawn System of Magic on ways and methods of adapting the published rituals for the use of the solitary magician. To that end the Sanctuary of Maat adopted the use of the manual Self Initiation into the Golden Dawn System as its primary text and source book because it is felt to be simply the best manual of Self Initiation that has taken the suggestions of Regardie and expanded upon them in a manner that is both lucid and valid for the solitary practitioner of the Golden Dawn system, and allows the student to begin the process of inner exploration and growth along the lines originally intended by the orders founders.

Although the Sanctuary of Maat utilizes a method of self initiation, and physical initiation, that does not mean that groups of practitioners cannot work together, and in that manner there is a great deal of further interaction and levels of learning that can be obtained for those that wish to do so. Human beings are social creatures, and practitioners of our magical system are no exception. Many that choose the solitary path do so for a variety of reasons, to include the simple fact that they simply wish to work alone, or they may not have the time necessary to devote to group work. For these and others that work alone, the Self Initiation manual and curriculum of the Sanctuary of Maat fills a void that existed until just recently, and offers a viable and two valid methods of Initiation, as well as formal recognition of the work that they do through a process of ritual, study, and testing.

There are, however, others that work alone due to the cost of joining a group or Magical Order, factors of distance, personal preference of system, etc., and we recognize the fact that there are many students within the Sanctuary of Maat that would love to be part of a physical group but cannot do so, and it is to these students that we address these words to. Within the Sanctuary of Maat we would like to encourage and extend the opportunity to those that would like to start a formal triangle or study group of the Sanctuary.
